Overview

Summary

This project consists of electrical upgrades to the Alachua County Facilities Warehouse located at 6125 NW 18th Drive in Gainesville, Florida. The work includes installation of a new standby generator and automatic transfer switch, upgrades to switchgear and power distribution, and associated feeders, raceways, and controls to support the renovation and build out of multiple tenant areas. The intent is to enhance reliability, expand capacity, and modernize infrastructure to support critical County operations.

Improvements will provide dedicated electrical service to Fire Rescue, the Health Department, the Supervisor of Elections, and specialized equipment including SCBA systems, MOGS generation equipment, bunker gear cleaning, and drying systems within the warehouse space. The project also includes selective demolition, coordination with owner furnished equipment, permitting, inspections, and full compliance with engineered construction documents and applicable codes.

Alachua County is seeking experienced and qualified electrical contractors capable of delivering high quality workmanship, strong field coordination, and disciplined project management within an active operational environment. This project presents an opportunity to support essential public safety and government services through resilient and well executed electrical infrastructure improvements.
