eFax Services – Esker Inc.

The State of Minnesota MNIT Services, partnering with MDH, intends to renew an existing agreement with Esker, Inc., for up to twenty-four months. The renewal provides cloud-based fax (eFax) services to various MDH divisions. MDH relies on secure, HIPAA-compliant eFax transmissions for the exchange of highly sensitive public health data, such as patient records, infectious disease notifications, lab reports, newborn screening results, and provider communications.

Given the limitations of available options and the high stakes that are involved in faxing secure public health data, the eFax Service provided by Esker, Inc., is the only solution that meets the technical and operational needs of MDH. In addition, Esker, Inc., retains the exclusive ownership rights of its proprietary product and service and is solely responsible for providing the required eFax service. None of these products or services can be provided through third party entities. For these reasons, MNIT Services and MDH have deemed this to be a single source purchase.
