One-Two Sentences
North Carolina Central University (NCCU) is seeking a highly skilled and innovative design team to spearhead a comprehensive building systems upgrade and window replacement renovation project for the Edmonds Classroom Building. This vital initiative aims to address the critical needs of the building's infrastructure to enhance functionality, energy efficiency, and overall sustainability. Project Scope: The renovation project will focus on the following critical areas: 1. Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) Upgrades: o HVAC System: Replacement of the outdated HVAC systems to ensure efficient climate control and energy savings. o Plumbing: Upgrading the plumbing systems to improve reliability and performance. o Electrical Systems: Revamping the electrical systems to meet current safety and efficiency standards. 2. Window Replacement: o Replacement of old, inefficient windows with modern, energy-efficient alternatives to enhance thermal performance and reduce energy consumption. 3. Cooling Tower and Chiller Replacement: o Replacement of the cooling tower that has reached the end of its useful life. o Upgrade of the existing chiller, which is also nearing the end of its operational life, to ensure optimal performance and compliance with industry standards. o Ensuring the new system achieves the desired relative humidity and temperature range. The primary objective of this comprehensive renovation is to create a safe, efficient, and sustainable learning environment for students and faculty. The successful design team will bring expertise, innovation, and a commitment to excellence in modernizing the Edmonds Classroom Building. Contact AVC/PM to obtain a comprehensive project brief.
