General Notice

The Town of Clayton (Owner) is requesting Bids for the construction of the following Project:

E. Main Street Sidewalk Connector – BL-0050

BID # 700-ENG-2026-20

Bids for the construction of the Project will be received at Town of Clayton Town Hall, located at 111 E.

Second St., Clayton, NC 27520, until Thursday, July 23, 2026, at 2:00 local time.

All visitors to Town Hall are required to sign in upon entry; therefore, bidders should plan accordingly

to allow sufficient time to complete the sign-in process and ensure bids are submitted before the stated

deadline. A designated Town staff member will be stationed in the main lobby to accept bids prior to

the deadline. Bids received after the stated time will not be accepted.

Each bid will be date- and time-stamped upon receipt. At the deadline, the designated staff member

will immediately deliver all timely received bids to the bid opening location. Bids received by the

deadline will be publicly opened and read aloud.

The Project includes the following Work:

Construction of sidewalk improvements along the E Main Street corridor, including installation of new

sidewalks on both sides of the roadway, grading, drainage and hydraulic features, traffic signal

modifications, pavement markings, erosion control measures, and coordination with utilities and

adjacent infrastructure.

The Project has an expected duration of 240 consecutive calendar days.

designated website. Neither Owner nor Engineer will be responsible for Bidding Documents, including

Pre-bid Conference

A NON-MANDATORY pre-bid conference for the Project will be held on July 9, 2026, at 10:00 am at

Town of Clayton Council Chambers, 111 E. Second St, Clayton, NC 27520. Attendance at the pre-bid

conference is encouraged but not required. Only emailed questions received prior to the time and date

listed below, or questions received at the pre-bid meeting will be addressed. All emailed questions must

be received by 4:00 PM, Local Time on July 10, 2026. No questions or requests for clarifications will be

accepted after this time. Responses to questions will be issued in the form of an addendum and issued

by 2:00 PM, Local Time on July 14, 2026 (if needed) on

https://www.townofclayton7/23/2026nc.org/Bids.aspx. The issuance of such written responses is the

only official method by which interpretation, clarification or additional information will be given by the

Town. Only requests answered by formal written responses will be binding. Oral and other

interpretations or clarifications will be without legal effect.
