INTENT

It is the intent of these plans and specifications to provide for a contractor who shall provide all labor, materials, tools, and equipment necessary to perform in a professional manner for the Contract 2: Pump Station 5 & 14 Reconstruction Project as described in the specifications and bid document.

SCOPE OF WORK

Station 5 & 14: treatment plant – site location is 2045 e. Michigan avenue, Kalamazoo, mi 49007. Construction of a water treatment plant that removes iron and pfas from water at 2,800 gpm using green sand pressure filtration for iron removal and granular activated carbon adsorption for pfas removal. Plant construction includes, but is not limited to: site work, treatment building construction, piping, electrical, iron and pfas removal vessels and media, backwash tank, clear well, pumps, chemical building, finished and raw/collector water mains, paving, storm sewer, sanitary sewer, commissioning, paving, fencing, site restoration, etc.

Station 5: site location 2045 e. Michigan avenue, Kalamazoo, mi 49007. Construction/installation of production well pumps and condos, raw/collector water water mains, connection of wells to new water mains, well field electrical, chlorine dosing building, chlorine feed line, building modifications (booster pump and controls removal), well abandonment, well condo demolition, misc. Site work, site restoration, etc.

Station 14: site location 2300 Henson Avenue, Kalamazoo, mi 49007 (spring valley park). Construction/installation of production well pumps and condos, raw/collector water mains, connection of wells to new water mains, well field electrical, chlorine dosing building, chlorine feed line, building modifications (booster pump removal), well abandonment, well condo demolition, misc. Site work, paving, site restoration, etc.

Work shall be substantially complete with the treatment plant and all wells in service by April 30, 2028. Final completion with vegetation established shall be November 1, 2028.
