ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS
All Qualified Bidders are invited to submit bids for the construction of DUTCHTOWN ROAD
CULVERT REPLACEMENT – BID 3535. The Project consists of clearing & grubbing, grading, paving,
striping, erosion control, traffic control and box culvert for the proposed drainage improvements.
Bids will be received at the Knox County Procurement Division, 1000 N. Central Street, Suite 100,
Knoxville, TN 37917 on or before Tuesday, April 16, 2024 until 4:00 p.m. local time, at which time said
bids will be publicly opened and read aloud and the Contract awarded as soon thereafter as practicable.
Bidders must use the bid envelope cover sheet provided in the project manual and include their Full Name,
Address, and Tennessee Contractor’s License Number and deposit the bid in the Knox County Procurement
Bid Box.
Bidders must obtain Plans, Specifications and Contract Documents electronically from the office of Ardurra
Group, Inc., at no cost, by emailing Christopher Golliher, P.E. at cgolliher@ardurra.com or calling 865-
251-5341.
A mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. local time. The
meeting will be held at the office of the Knox County Procurement Division, 1000 N. Central Street, Suite
100, Knoxville, TN 37917. Bidders must have a representative present at the mandatory pre-bid meeting
for their bids to be considered.
All Bidders must be licensed Contractors as required by the “CONTRACTOR’S LICENSING ACT OF
1976,” and as passed by the 89th General Assembly of the State of Tennessee. Furthermore, the Contractor
should have the necessary licensing classifications as listed in the Rules of Tennessee Board for Licensing
General Contractors-Chapter 0680-1.
Each Bid must be accompanied by a certified check or by a Bidder’s Bond executed by the Bidder and a
surety company licensed to do business in Tennessee in the sum of five percent (5%) of the amount of the
Bid.
The successful Bidder will be required to execute an acceptable performance and payment bond in the
amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract price within thirty (30) calendar days of
contract award notice.
Knox County reserves the right to waive any informality in or to reject any or all bids and to accept the bid
deemed most favorable to the interest of the County.
