Duncairn Dam Geotechnical Performance Assessment

The purpose of this work is to complete a comprehensive stability, seepage, deformation, and risk evaluation of the embankment and abutments at Duncairn Dam. Instrumentation data installed to date indicates cyclic deformation resulting from reservoir operation. Based on the history of the site and limited data regarding deformations experienced, WSA desires additional analysis of the site using numerical model stability and deformation assessment.
The scope of the work is to provide consulting services to:
a) Complete stability, seepage, and deformation assessment of Duncairn Dam,
b) Complete a risk assessment,
c) Update geotechnical instrumentation alarm levels.

WSA is a Treasury Board Crown corporation within the meaning of The Crown Corporations Act, 1993 (Saskatchewan) that is governed by The Water Security Agency Act (Saskatchewan). WSA is responsible for water management in the Province of Saskatchewan, which includes managing the province’s water supply, protecting water quality, ensuring safe drinking water and the treatment of wastewater, reducing flood and drought damage, protecting aquatic habitat, and managing dams and related supply channels.
