IFB #059-39, Ductile Iron Pipe
Addendum 2

ACKNOWLEDGE RECEIPT OF THIS ADDENDUM BY INSERTING ITS NUMBER IN THE BID FORM; FAILURE TO DO SO MAY SUBJECT BONA FIDE BIDDER TO DISQUALIFICATION.

THIS ADDENDUM FORMS A PART OF THE PROJECT DOCUMENTS; IT MODIFIES THEM AS FOLLOWS:

1. The following additional questions were received in response to the issuance of the bid documents:

Q1: Does the County plan on utilizing the standard cement lined or P401 lined fittings on the 6” pipe that is lined P401?
A1: We require Protecto P410 Ceramic Epoxy Coating for both pipe and fittings.

Q2: The Ductile Iron Pipe specification calls for Class 250 but 6” DIP is not offered in Class 250. The minimum Class for 6” DIP is 350/50. Would that be an acceptable alternate?
A2: The Class 350/50 is fine since Class 250 is not made for 6” pipe.

Q3: You have requested restrained joint gaskets (Fast Grip) rather than standard Tyton Joint gaskets. This is typical when pipe is being pulled or run through casing, but is not typical for standard installations. It will add quite a bit of money to the bid to use 230 restraining gaskets rather than the typical Tyton Joint style gaskets (included with pipe).
A3: Thank you for this information. Your proposal should include furnishing fifteen (15) restrained joint gaskets (Fast Grip) and the remainder as standard Tyton Joint gaskets.

All other terms and conditions remain the same.
