Title: DUAL LANGUAGE CONSULTING, TRAINING AND IMPLEMENTATION
Addenda: 0
Release Date: 6/2/2025
Due Date: 7/9/2025
Purpose of Proposal:
Since September 2019, the Passaic Public School District has implemented a 50/50 Dual Language Program to promote bilingualism and biliteracy. As we enter the next phase of growth, we are inviting proposals from experienced vendors to provide targeted support in strengthening and expanding our program. This support should include professional development, instructional coaching, classroom walkthroughs, and expert consultation, all aligned with current best practices in dual language education—such as cross-linguistic transfer and translanguaging strategies.
We are seeking qualified service providers who can deliver high-quality training and coaching for educators and school leaders. Proposals should outline comprehensive offerings to support effective teaching and leadership within a dual language immersion model, ensuring continued progress and sustainability.
Approximately 3,700 Multilingual Learners (MLs) are enrolled in grades K–12 across 17 schools in the district.
Currently, approximately 50 teachers deliver instruction in the 50/50 Dual Language Program, supporting nearly 700 MLs in grades K–5.
Vendors are encouraged to propose a comprehensive approach that promotes educator development, enhances student language acquisition, and advances program quality through ongoing, collaborative professional learning and support.
