The City of New Port Richey, Florida is seeking competitive bids from licensed contractors to provide all construction items. This will include, but not limited to, labor, materials, demolition of select plant material, provision and planting of ground covers, shrub, palm and tree materials, provision, removing, and relocation of select tree material, provision, adjustment, and updates to existing irrigation and warranty for the Downtown Landscape Improvements Project as shown on the project drawings.
Sealed bids for the 2015 Downtown Landscaping Improvements Project, addressed to the City of New Port Richey, City Clerk's Office, Second Floor, City Hall, 5919 Main Street, New Port Richey, FL 34652, will be received at the office of City Clerk until 2:00 pm Thursday March 30, 2017. Any bids received after the time and date specified will not be considered.
The sealed bids will be publicly opened and read at 2:00 pm local time on Friday March 31, 2017 in the City of New Port Richey Council Chambers located at 5919 Main St., New Port Richey, FL 34652. All interested parties are invited to attend.
The Project is located within the City of New Port Richey, Florida, between US19 and Polk St. and south to the city limits south of the Pithlachascottee River along Grand Blvd., with multiple locations as shown on the project plans, and the items below:
? Tree removal/relocation
? Maintenance of Traffic (MOT)
? Landscape plantings
? Herbicidal spray of existing sod
? Removal of sod
? Demolition of identified plant material
? Provision and planting of ground cover, shrub, and tree materials in areas identified on plans, including staking and guying of trees and palms
? Provision, adjustments, and updates to existing irrigation
? 12-month maintenance of plant materials
? 12-month Warranty after Final Acceptance
The Work is generally described as furnishing all labor, materials, equipment, tools, transportation, services and incidentals including warranty, necessary to provide the Owner with the items described above and shown on plans and details for the 2015 DOWNTOWN LANDSCAPING IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT. All work shall be in accordance with the construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
A CD containing an electronic copy of the Bid Documents (.pdf format) may be obtained from Genesis, upon payment of $50.00. Printed hard copies of the documents and a CD containing an electronic copy may be obtained at the Landscape Architect's office, upon payment of $125.00 per set. Checks shall be payable to Genesis. Each bid must be submitted, in triplicate, on the prescribed Proposal forms and accompanied by Bid Security on the prescribed form, payable to the City of New Port Richey, in an amount not less than 5 percent of the base bid amount. The successful Bidder will be required to furnish the necessary additional bond(s) for the faithful performance of the Contract, as prescribed in the Contract Documents.
Before a Contract will be awarded for the work contemplated herein, the Landscape Architect of Record will conduct such investigations as is necessary to determine the performance record and ability of the apparent low Bidder to perform the size and type of work specified under this Contract. Upon request, the Bidder shall submit such information as deemed necessary by the Landscape Architect of Record to evaluate the Bidders qualifications.
Each bid must be submitted, in triplicate, on the prescribed Proposal forms.
Insurance coverage is required for this project. Prior to contract signing, the contractor must furnish Certificates of General Liability, Vehicle Liability, and Workman's Compensation insurance in amounts not less than $1,000,000 to the City. Contractor shall include Owner as additional insured party on the Certificate of Insurance. All insurance coverage shall be written by companies licensed to do business in Florida and shall be administered by a Florida registered agent.
In order to perform public work, the successful Bidder shall, as applicable, hold or obtain such Contractors' and Business Licenses as required by state statues.
The right is reserved to reject all Proposals or any Proposal not conforming to the intent and purpose of the Contract Documents, and to postpone the award of the Contract for a period of time, which, however, shall not extend beyond 90 days from the Proposal opening date.
