Overview

Summary

The City of St. Petersburg requests Proposals from interested and qualified Proposers to provide a variety of on-site ambassador services in the Downtown Enhanced Services Zone (DESZ). The DESZ will encompass approximately 226 acres, as illustrated on the attached boundary map. Once established, the DESZ will supplement existing City services with an emphasis on cleanliness, hospitality and beautification, ensuring downtown remains welcoming and vibrant.

Background

The City of St. Petersburg is working with community and business stakeholders to establish a Downtown Enhanced Services Zone (DESZ) that will deliver enhanced services above and beyond standard municipal operations. The future DESZ will focus on creating a cleaner, and more inviting, downtown environment, while coordinating closely with City departments and local organizations.

Core guiding principles include:

  1. Delivering visible improvements in cleanliness, maintenance
  2. Practicing compassionate engagement with unhoused individuals
  3. Promoting collaboration among City departments, downtown businesses and civic partners
  4. Supporting tourism, retail vitality and community pride

The proposed district boundary includes the Downtown Core, Central Avenue Corridor and Waterfront Arts District, extending from Dr. MLK Jr. St. to The Pier, and from 5th Avenue North to 6th Avenue South. Within this area, approximately 226 acres and 203 blocks will be served by the vendor.
