As one of the 8 Great Lakes Compact states, we are required to be a part of the decision-making body, of which the Great Lakes St. Lawrence Governors & Premiers is the secretariat. Our dues to the Council of Great Lakes Governors, Inc. fund the interstate and binational work on the Compact. A member of the DNR's Commissioner’ Office represents Governor Walz on the Council. Membership to this group is statutorily mandated.
