Grant Opportunity Description: Conduct a feasibility study assessing the options, barriers, and opportunities to getting local, under-utilized Massachusetts seafood into underserved communities in Essex, Manchester-by-the-Sea, Rockport, and Gloucester, while supporting prices paid to local commercial fishers. The study should include an analysis of existing models of seafood in food pantries, supply chain issues, costs, and logistical issues. The study should consider including input from food banks, fishers, seafood dealers, and other key stakeholders. Recommendations and lessons learned that could be used in a pilot program should be included.
