Project Description: REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS
The State of Utah Division of Facilities Construction and Management (DFCM) is requesting proposals for Progressive Design-Build Services, Phase 1: General Contractor, for the referenced project:

This Progressive Design-Build approach is a pilot program being explored to create a more collaborative Progressive Design-Build process, maximize value, and reduce unnecessary costs on the project utilizing a multi-phased procurement process to independently select both the General Contractor and the Design Team.
The Phase 1 – General Contractor Selection of the Progressive Design-Build procurement process is for selection of a General Contractor only. Upon selection of the Contractor, a design services solicitation will be drafted with input from the Contractor. This solicitation will be released as the Phase 2 – Design Team Selection. The selected Contractor will be a voting member on the design services selection committee, along with the DFCM and college representatives.
The design team will be brought on to the project under the Contractor’s Progressive Design-Build Contract, as done in a traditional Design-Build approach. The final Progressive Design-Build team will be comprised of a Contractor, supported by subcontractors, and a Design Team, supported by subconsultants.
Brief Project Description: This project will provide a 91,700 sq foot building that will include the following spaces: 22,250 NSF of apprenticeships, 22,255 NSF of diesel tech / heavy equipment, 12,240 NSF of welding (including 50 welding booths), 12,127 NSF of computer tech, and 22,828 NSF of building / program support.
