The City of Greenville is seeking proposals for design services for Phase 1 of a project known as the 'Zoo Trail' that will exist behind the Greenville Zoo near Cleveland Park. The general route for Phase 1 of the proposed trail follows an abandoned rail corridor that connects David C. Francis Drive on the west to East Washington Street on the east. The project consists of design and engineering, cost estimating and bid development, as well as value engineering and obtaining any necessary permits for construction.

Additionally, assistance with detailed coordination with adjacent property owners and the Greenville Zoo will be required. The City of Greenville owns and controls the majority of the corridor, but an existing trail easement on PIN 0062000200100 will need to be assessed and modified to meet the proposed trail, property owner desires, and access and operational needs of existing businesses. The private property located at PIN 0062000200100 (85 David C Francis) is NOT accessible for site visits and the City-owned corridor may NOT be accessed via this private property. Please do not trespass. Full access to this property will be available to the successful proponent and coordinated with the property owner and operating business.
