  • Summary:The City has issued this Request for Qualifications (RFQu) on behalf of the Department of Project Implementation seeking professional design services from interested and qualified firms for the design of the Duke Street Transitway. The transitway runs west to east along Duke Street from West End Alexandria (west of South Van Dorn near the former Landmark Mall) to the King Street Metro. The Duke Street Transitway will provide increased driver safety from separating buses from general traffic, faster and more reliable bus service, wider sidewalk, separate paths from bikes, safer intersections and an overall more pleasant experience for all users of the Duke Street corridor. Attention shall be focused on the overall coordination of the design ensuring proposed improvements work together and conflicts between the various corridor users are eliminated to the extent practicable. The solicitation will not be provided in the eVA system, only in the City's Vendor Self Service System. A non-mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held on January 8, 2025, at 10:00 AM.
