Project Description: The City of Tallahassee (City) is seeking a qualified Engineering Firm (hereinafter referred to as Firm or Consultant) interested in providing Engineering Services; to include all services, labor, materials, equipment and supplies necessary to provide such services as outlined in this scope of work. In order for a SOQ to be considered responsive, the prospective consultant or sub-consultants shall have a team member prequalified Group 3.1, Minor Highway Design (Chap.14‐75, F.A.C.).
The City is seeking a Statement of Qualifications from Experienced Engineering firms for the Design services of the Jake Gaither Community Pedestrian and Streets Safety Project. The design services are funded through the United States Department of Transportation’s (USDOT) Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) Grant Program.
The City seeks to design safety improvements to infrastructure within the historically disadvantaged Jake Gaither Community. The project will implement the Federal Highway Administration’s Proven Safety Countermeasures with walkways, crosswalk visibility enhancements, roadway design improvements at curves, and other roadway safety strategies such as clear zone mitigation and enhanced pavement markings, prioritizing safety improvements that benefit all roadway users. The project will also include creating complete streets to include pedestrian walkways and crossings. Improvements will be constructed on Ridge Road, N. Ridge Road, Springsax Road, Bragg Drive, Creek Road, Bunche Avenue, and Tanner Drive.
