Design Criteria and CEI Services - Escambia County New Fire Station - Kingsfield Road

During a regularly scheduled Board Meeting in May, the Escambia County Board of County Commissioners voted to replace two fire stations and add three fire stations to areas that don’t have adequate fire protection. Commissioners identified five different locations: Pleasant Grove (replacement), Myrtle Grove (replacement), Paradise Beach (New-Bauer Road), Cantonment (New-Kingsfield Road), and Brownsville (new-location to be determined).

This Request for Letters of Interest (RLI) pertains to the Design Criteria and Construction, Engineering, and Inspection services (CEI) services for one (1) of those fire stations, Kingsfield Road (new fire station). This fire station will be constructed using the traditional Design-Build delivery approach. The professional firm selected under this contract will provide CEI services to the County during the Design-Build process and warranty management services for one (1) year after completion.

It is the intent of the County at this time to competitively seek a separate professional Design-Build firm to complete the design and construction of the buildings. The CEI firm will not be eligible to submit proposals for the Design-Build solicitation.

The Scope for this Request for Letters of Interest is to establish a contract with a professional firm to develop a detailed Design Criteria Package and provide continued CEI services for the duration of the construction of one fire station, Kingsfield Road (new), including post-construction warranty management (1-year). The design of the other fire stations will not be part of this contract.
