Design-Build Services for Anacostia Recreation Center Pool Replacement

The District of Columbia (the “District”) Department of General Services (the “Department” or “DGS”) is issuing this Request for Proposals (“RFP”) to solicit design-build proposals (“Proposal(s)”) from offerors (“Offeror(s)”) interested in serving as the design-builder (the “Design-Builder” or the “Contractor”) for the pool replacement at Anacostia Recreation Center, located in Ward 8 at 1800 Anacostia Drive SE, Washington, DC 20020 (the “Project”).

Anacostia Recreation Center, originally named Anacostia Pool, was built in 1937 within Anacostia Park by the National Park Service (“NPS”) and funded by the Public Works Administration (“PWA”). The site is bounded by Anacostia Drive and Anacostia River to the North and District of Columbia Route 295 (“DC 295”). The pool was the site of historic civil rights events in the District in 1949. In 1973, a portion of Anacostia Park, including the Anacostia Recreation Center and Pool, was transferred to the District and is now under the DPR portfolio.
