The Volusia County (County) Public Works Department (PW) is seeking to establish one or more contracts for disaster debris removal, reduction, disposal and other emergency cleanup services following a disaster event. Due to the urgency and level of service required following a disaster event, the County seeks proposals from qualified Contractors with sufficient experience in the specialized management of disaster response and subcontractors for the purpose of debris removal services during the preparation, response, recovery, and mitigation phases of potential emergency situations or disasters. Consequently, qualified Contractors must have the capacity and ability to rapidly mobilize and respond to potential wide-scale debris volumes typical of a hurricane in addition to localized small-scale volumes typical of a tornado.
10,000 CY – 199,000 CY Level 1 Local Storm (Tornado, Minor Hurricane Damage)
200,000 CY – 999,999 CY Level 2 Disaster (Significant Hurricane Damage Impacting > 50% of County)
1,000,000+ CY Level 3 Disaster (Catastrophic damage countywide)
The above indicates the total quantity of debris collected by the County of Volusia to include the Contractor(s) and staff (i.e. Road & Bridge) at the time of the final Contractor invoice.
