Exhibit A: Specifications, Duties, and Scope of Work
Special Inspections and Testing
Scope of Work
The Successful Responder work will consist of Special Inspection and Testing (SIT) Services for the project as
required by the Minnesota State Building Code at Virginia Minnesota Headquarters, District 1 as described
below.
SIT Services already contracted are as follows:
1. All required services related to Salt Shelter Building 20134
2. Earthwork related to soil corrections across site.
3. Concrete testing - Building 90169
Special inspections and testing services requested are inclusive of but not limited to the following. Responders
should refer to the Drawings, Tech Sections and Amend 1 & 2, posted separately from this announcement, to
ensure all required testing is accounted for within your letter of interest.
1) Soils - Buildings 90173, 90175, 90176, 90177, 90178, 90179, 90180
a. Material properties.
b. Compaction.
c. Other testing as required by specifications and geotechnical report.
i. Appendix 1 - Geotechnical Evaluation Report
2) Concrete/CIP/Reinforcing Steel. Buildings 90173, 90175, 90176, 90177, 90178, 90179, 90180
a. Review formwork, rebar layout, size, spacing and location.
b. Concrete testing for slump, air entrainment, temperature and cast cylinders for concrete strength results.
c. Floor flatness tests.
d. Other testing as required by specifications.
3) Concrete T-Panels - Building 90180
a. Placement of concrete units
b. Connections between concrete units
c. Other testing as required by specifications.
4) Asphalt - All new asphalt across site includes paving within 90180
a. Cores for material compliance.
b. Laboratory testing per specifications.
c. Observation during placement.
d. Other testing as required by specifications.
5) Wood Framing/Rough Carpentry - Buildings 90175, 90176, 90177, 90178, 90179, 90180
a. Verify all bracing required by truss manufacturer in place.
b. Verify connections match design drawings.
c. Observe shear wall framing for blocking and nailing patterns.
d. Other testing as required by specifications.
6) Firestopping Services - Buildings 90169, 90173
