Solicitation Summary
A. The City of Gaithersburg (“City”) is soliciting proposals from qualified firms to provide curbside Yard Waste and Recyclable Collection and Processing Services as is further described herein.
B. The intent of this Request for Proposals (“RFP”) is to secure flexible, cost-effective and turnkey solutions in two (2) distinct categories in order to achieve the City’s significant waste diversion and customer service goals:
• Category #1: Recycling & Yard Waste Collection and Hauling
• Category #2: Processing of Single Stream Recyclables
C. The City anticipates awarding two separate contracts for services in each respective category listed above. Firms may submit a proposal for only Category #1, only Category #2 or both #1 and #2 (as separate Proposals). The City may award both contracts to the same firm, or each contract may be awarded to separate firms.
D. Both contracts will have an initial term of three (3) years, with two (2) additional one-year optional renewal terms, for a total contract duration of up to five (5) years. Both contracts include an annual consumer price index adjustment, as outlined herein.

There will be an optional Pre-Submission Meeting held at the location shown below on the date and at the time specified in the Solicitation Schedule. Attendance of the Pre-Submission Meeting is not mandatory but is strongly encouraged. The City will not provide printed copies of the Solicitation Documents at the Pre-Submission Meeting.
