Crosswalk and Jail Secure Detention Roof Replacement

Lake County will conduct roof replacement and associated repairs across three distinct facility areas as part of a multi-site capital improvement initiative:

1. Lake County Courthouse and Walkways (Area ‘A’) – This scope includes a full roof replacement and localized concrete crack repair across approximately 3,500 square feet. Most existing rooftop drains, vents, and mechanical equipment will remain in place. A new roof hatch and ladder will be installed for improved access to Roof #02. Any equipment requiring temporary removal shall be carefully disconnected, protected from weather exposure, and reinstalled by the contractor. Site access and crane staging will be located off Washington Street, coordinated with appropriate barricading and traffic safety measures.
2. Babcox Adult Correction Center (Area ‘B’) – This building will undergo full roof replacement and targeted concrete repair across approximately 18,600 square feet. Most rooftop equipment will remain in place. Work includes the replacement of the roof hatch at Roof #01, removal of two stairwell pressure relief hoods and dampers, and the removal and patching of davit base anchor points at Roofs #02 and #03. Any HVAC or rooftop systems that require removal must be protected and reinstalled by the contractor. Crane and dumpster staging will be located off South County Street.
