2 Contract Term
The initial agreement for crane and hoist inspection services shall begin July 1, 2024 (or upon award) and extend
through June 30, 2027, with an option to renew on an annual basis through June 30, 2027. The annual terms are
as follows.

3 July 1, 2026
June 30, 2027
Renewal between terms shall be based on mutual consent between parties. Pricing throughout each individual term
shall remain constant (frozen). Upon renewal Owner and Company shall review pricing. Company shall have the
opportunity to adjust pricing upon renewal. Owner reserves the right to compare the adjustments against the
Consumer Price Index for Iowa and other competitive market factors. At no time shall an increase exceed 3.0%.
ISU is not obligated to purchase a minimum amount, nor should any dollar amount/estimated quantity referenced be
interpreted as anticipated revenues by Company or expenditures on ISU’s behalf.

5 Required Crane Inspection Items
The following specifications on inspections are fairly complete, however, Company is to review Owner's
specifications and note any deficiencies in the specifications. Document additional inspection services you,
as a Company, may be offering to Owner as an addition to our minimum specifications.
Complete inspection of gear cases for proper oil level. Lubrication of pins, levers, rods, hinges, linkages,

collectors or slide pivot pins where oiling is required. This inspection shall use Owner supplied lubricates and
include the following:
Inspection of all operating mechanisms for maladjustment interfering with proper operation.
Check all pivot points for freedom of movement.
Lubricate as fittings allow.
Check reservoirs and fill if required.
Inspect all hydraulic fittings for leakage.
Evidence of neglect of lubrication, corrosion, or any other damage of operating mechanisms.
Complete inspection of hoist ropes, sheaves and drums for proper settings, wear, cracks or other damage or
corrosion. Checks shall include:
Checking the rope for proper sizing.
Inspecting for broken wires exceeding twelve randomly distributed wires in one rope lay or four broken
wires in one strand in one rope lay.
Checking for worn outside wires in which wear exceeds one-third of the original diameter of outside
individual wires.
Evidence of neglect of lubrication, corrosion, kinking, crushing or any other damage of the rope
structure.
Complete inspection on all brakes and braking systems. This inspection shall include:
Examining brake wheel for surface wear, glazing cracking or discoloration.
Check all pivot points for freedom of movement.
Lubricate as fittings allow.
Check reservoir and fill if required.
Inspect all hydraulic fittings for leakage.
Complete Electrical inspection which includes:
Checking of general condition of all contacts on all contractors, relays, disconnect switches, circuit
breakers, limit switches, master switches and controls.
Check motor brushes for wear and movements.
Megger for high resistance ground faults.
Check of all motor resistors, control panel components and other electrical connections.
Check of conductor and collector shoe alignment and wear on shoes.
General overall inspection on all operating mechanisms and structural members for wear, distortion,
deformations, fractures, corrosion unusual noise, strange operations or other damage.
Inspection of crane hook for distortion and throat opening (recording readings).
Company shall provide all tools and equipment required to perform all inspections and checks (i.e., cranes
scaffolding lifts, etc.).
Inspection report including a record of noted discrepancies, clearances, parts installed, and recommended
addition work performed about inspection items.
Breakdown of rate and material markup for required repairs.
Shaw-Box general instruction manual and applicable OSHA regulations shall be used to cover any questions
regarding inspections items.
Companies bidding shall include a standard check-off sheet that Company could utilize when inspecting
Owner's cranes.
Owner reserves the right to request Company, at Company's expense, to perform a demonstration inspection
on one of Owner's cranes.
Grease and lube all hoists as needed while performing inspections.
