Craik Dam Engineering

Craik Dam was constructed in 1962 by the Prairie Farm Rehabilitation Administration. In 1964 it was handed over to the RM of Craik to own and operate. The dam impounds the Arm River to create a reservoir that is used by irrigators, by the Town of Craik as a domestic water source, for recreation, and as a Regional Park.

The dam’s existing low-level outlet (LLO) is non-functional, which prevents lowering the reservoir level to inspect and maintain other key features such as the embankment dam and the drop-inlet spillway structure.

The purpose of this RFQ is to engage an engineering consultant to complete the inspection and design work outlined herein.

WSA is a Treasury Board Crown corporation within the meaning of The Crown Corporations Act, 1993 (Saskatchewan) that is governed by The Water Security Agency Act (Saskatchewan). WSA is responsible for water management in the Province of Saskatchewan, which includes managing the Province’s water supply, protecting water quality, ensuring safe drinking water and the treatment of wastewater, reducing flood and drought damage, protecting aquatic habitat, and managing dams and related supply channels.
