County-Wide Drainage Improvements

The County Commissioners of Caroline County, on behalf of the Caroline County Department of Public Works, are accepting proposals for a County-wide Drainage Improvements Contract. This is an as-needed contract to perform stormwater and drainage repairs on Caroline County assets. This contract will involve sites located throughout Caroline County that the Department of Public Works is responsible for maintaining.

Work includes clearing, grading, and structural repairs to stormwater management facilities, drainage pipes, outfall structures, and embankments of roadways, ponds, and streams. Specific examples of work may include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Installation, repair, and cleaning of manholes, junction boxes, inlets, storm drainpipes, end walls, end sections, inlets, riser structures, underdrain, sub-drain, and other miscellaneous drainage structures and masonry.
• Grading, repairing, and stabilizing eroded embankments, slopes, ditches, and swales.
• Remove and replace damaged or broken pipes, drainage structures, paved ditches, and other miscellaneous masonry.
• Installation and maintenance of sediment and erosion control devices, such as riprap, soil stabilization matting, silt fence, stabilized construction entrances, and other similar controls, including maintenance of flow diversions, dewatering, and pumping.
• Paving operations incidental to pipe installations for hot mix asphalt, concrete, and sidewalk patching, including construction of concrete curb and gutter, hot mix asphalt curbs, and mountable berms.
• Providing and installation of cast-in-place and precast reinforced concrete drainage structures.
• Clearing, grubbing, and removal of trees, brush, trash, sediment, and other debris.
• Landscaping, including the planting of trees, shrubs, perennials, turf grass, and sod as well as temporary and permanent seeding for stabilization.

A mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held on 02/10/2025 at 11:00 am at the Caroline County Circuit Courthouse 109 Market Street Denton, Maryland 21629. • This contract will include options to the successful bidder for renewal for up to 4 additional terms.
• This contract will include a provision for liquidated damages.

Bids must be received in the office of the Caroline County Commissioners, located at 109 Market Street, Denton, Maryland 21629, ATTENTION: Nicole Pearce, by no later than 11:00 am, 02/24/25 where they will be publicly opened and read aloud.  The County Commissioners reserve the right to reject any/or all bids.
