County of Vermilion River - Request for Proposal - Roadside Spot…

The County of Vermilion River is seeking proposals from qualified contractors for professional roadside spot spraying services for the 2026 season. The primary objective is the identification and treatment of noxious and prohibited noxious weeds as defined under the Alberta Weed Control Act.

Work Scope: Targeted spot spraying along roadside rights-of-way, primarily focused on the southeast region of the County. Once this focused area is addressed, the contractor will proceed to treat the rest of the County, subject to available time, budget, and herbicide supply.

Operational Window: All spraying operations must be completed between August 3 and August 28, 2026.

Municipality Provision: The County will provide the necessary herbicide, water, and access to the ArcGIS record-keeping system for weed point locations and data management.

Contractor Requirements: The successful proponent must provide all required equipment, fuel, and licensed operators (holding a valid Service Registration and Applicator Certificate).

Contract Term: This contract includes an initial term for the 2026 season, with the potential for three (3) additional one-year extensions (2027–2029) based on performance and mutual agreement.
