2026 Cortez Rec Center Natatorium Rehabilitation Project

REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS

Sealed proposals for furnishing the following to the City of Cortez will be received by the General Services Director, City Service Center, 110 West Progress Circle, Cortez, Colorado 81321, until 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at which time proposals will be publicly opened and read.

The goal of this project is to have a fully resurfaced, functional, and safe leisure pool and play feature in the Cortez Recreation Center’s Natatorium. Please pay attention to this project’s primary scope as well as alternative add-ons; the primary scope is guaranteed while the alternative add-ons will be budget-dependent. The primary scope involves the leisure pool resurfacing, perimeter tile removal and replacement, main drain cover replacement, and the removal and installation of a pre-selected play feature. If budget allows, we would prefer the selected contractor also complete the following: competition pool resurfacing, perimeter tile removal and replacement, main drain cover replacement, install a concrete stair system, replace missing acoustic sound baffles and reattach existing sound baffles. Please note that this project follows a comprehensive design recently completed by Schmueser Gordon Meyer, Inc. and Counsilman/ Hunsaker & Associates, Inc., which is attached to this RFP and sets more detailed standards for the “build phase” of this project.

An Optional Walk-Through of the project site will be held on Monday, July 6, 2026, at 10:00 AM.

Proposals shall be submitted in writing and signed by the vendor or its duly authorized agent. Proposals shall be submitted in sealed envelopes and marked on the outside with  “BID – 2026 Cortez Recreation Center Natatorium Rehab Project” and with the vendor’s name.

The City of Cortez reserves the right to waive any formality or any informality in the process of awarding a proposal. The City of Cortez reserves the right to accept any proposal, in whole or in part, and to reject any or all proposals if it be deemed in the best interest of the City to do so.
