Contract 2025-05 – South Perkasie Covered Bridge: Timber Superstructure

• Rehabilitation and relocation of the timber superstructure of the historic South Perkasie Covered Bridge located in Lenape Park.

• Work must adhere to:

  • Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties

  • Applicable FHWA, AASHTO, and PennDOT design and safety standards

• Platform: PennBid™

• Cost: Documents available free of charge

• Fee to Awarded Bidder: 0.33% of bid amount (capped at $6,000), charged by PennBid™

• Bid Security: Bid Bond or Certified Check for 5% of bid amount (payable to Borough of Perkasie)

• Required for Awarded Contractor:

  • Performance Bond: 100% of contract amount

  • Payment Bond: 100% of contract amount

  • Maintenance Bond: Format and surety subject to Borough approval

  • Proof of Insurance

• Funding Sources:

  • PEMA/FEMA

  • Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission

• Labor Standards: Davis-Bacon Act applies; federal wage rates must be paid as specified in the contract documents.

• EEO Compliance: No discrimination in hiring based on race, color, religion, sex, or national origin.

• Bids may be modified or withdrawn prior to the bid opening using properly executed documents.

• Bids may be withdrawn within two (2) business days post-opening only in accordance with 73 P.S. §1602 and amendments.

• Otherwise, bids are binding for 60 days after bid opening, or longer if agreed upon in writing.
