The City of Bristol is accepting bids for construction of a new structured parking facility on Hope Street, Bristol Connecticut. Bid documents may be obtained at no charge by downloading from the City of Bristol website via the document link noted below.
Bids will be accepted until January 30, 2023 at 11:00 am at the City of Bristol Purchasing Department, 111 North Main Street, 3rd Floor, Bristol CT 06010, at which time bids will be opened and read. Bids received after the opening date and time will not be considered for award. The City reserves the right to waive any informalities in the bid, to reject any or all bids, and to accept the bid that in its judgment is in its best interest.
A non-mandatory bidder’s conference will be held on January 10, 2024 at 11:00 am, in Room 310 of Bristol City Hall, 111 North Main Street, Bristol CT, to review the scope of work.
This project pertains to a project funded under the American Rescue Plan Act, Pub. L. No. 117-2 (March 11, 2021) and is subject to requirements set forth in the American Rescue Plan Act (“ARPA”). The awarded contractor will be responsible to follow and provide all requirements set by the United States Treasury’s State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds (“SLFRF”).
Pursuant to C.G.S. 46a-68j, this contract is subject to state contract compliance requirements, including non-discrimination statutes and set-aside requirements. State law requires a minimum of twenty-five (25%) percent of the state-funded portion of the contract be set aside for award to subcontractors holding current certification from the Connecticut Department of Administrative Services. The contractor must demonstrate good faith effort to meet the 25% set-aside goals.
Prospective bidders shall examine the “Instruction to Bidders” and “Supplementary Instructions to Bidders” and shall comply and conform strictly with the conditions and instructions contained therein.
The awarded contractor will be required to secure a Performance Bond and a Labor and Materials Bond, each in the amount of 100% of the contract award, provided by a surety licensed to do business in the State of Connecticut. The requirements for prevailing wage rates are to apply to the resultant contract award.
The City reserves the right to waive any informalities in the bid, to reject any or all bids, and to accept the bid that in its judgment is in its best interest. Bids must be firm and may not be withdrawn for a period of 90 days following the bid opening.
The Contractor will take affirmative action to ensure that applicants are employed, and that employees are treated during employment without regard to their race, color, religion, gender, or national origin.
