Project Description: Kentucky Trails is a major expansion of The Louisville Zoo. The project will be constructed on over seventeen acres of undeveloped zoo property. The site is located between Beargrass Creek, the Kensington Neighborhood, and the Zoo path adjacent to existing features such as Australian Outback, Wild Burger, Snow Leopard and Tiger Taiga.
The project consists of several new structures, multiple animal habitats, a man-made creek for kayaking, and a new train ride experience.
