Description:

The purpose of this project is for the creation of a passive recreation park, which is located along North Main Street adjacent to the Nansemond River in the City of Suffolk, Virginia. There are three phases to this project. Phase I of this project involves the establishment of approximately 470 linear feet of living shoreline along the Nansemond River and the installation of stormwater drainage improvements. Phase II is a park to include picnic shelters, benches, walkways and permeable parking. Phase III is construction of an elevated walkway for fishing, crabbing, and nature observation.

A mandatory pre-bid conference will be held at 10:00 a.m. local prevailing time on October 29, 2024, at the 724 N. Main Street, Suffolk, Virginia 23434 (next to Wendy’s). There is a curb cut for vehicles to park on the field. This will be the only opportunity to visit the site with City employees. Failure to attend will result in disqualification of bid.
