2025 Concrete Project - Bonner Springs, KS

Purpose.

This project consists of approximately 370 linear feet of curb and gutter removal and replacement, 1,870 square feet of sidewalk replacement, and 6,760 square feet of driveway approaches and apron reconstruction. All concrete work shall utilize KCMMB 4K concrete, except for three designated driveway approach and apron locations, which shall require KCMMB 4K concrete modified with a 24-hour high-early strength additive to allow reopening to traffic within 24 hours of placement.

The driveway apron at the Fire Station (identified as Location "R" on the attached map) shall be constructed in phases to maintain uninterrupted emergency vehicle access to the facility at all times. Coordination with the Fire Department is required prior to beginning work at this location. Similarly, the two driveway approaches at Centennial Park (Locations "K" and "L") must not be closed simultaneously. At least one access point to the parking lot must remain open at all times during construction.

The Contractor is responsible for providing and maintaining all necessary traffic control in accordance with the latest edition of the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) and shall issue timely notifications to affected residents and facility staff throughout the duration of the project.
