Community Outreach Catering Events

Project Description: The Office for Safe & Healthy Neighborhoods (OSHN) reduces violence in many ways, including community engagement. One of our several community engagement projects is the Community Sanctuary Project (CSP), that helps communities recover from gun violence by hosting safe, secure activations near or at the closest public location of homicides to ensure communities are not displaced by violence by supporting a sense of ownership over public spaces.
CSP activations are two-day events that take place two to three times a month, and they are funded by ARP through November 2026. We are anticipating approximately 72 2-day activations between November 2024 and November 2026. Approximately 150-300 community members attend these events, and they are usually held on Thursdays and Fridays between 4-6pm
