Scope of Services
The City of Kissimmee is researching the possibility of partnering with an existing not-for-profit agency that will act as a Community Land Trust for the city in an effort to support development and preservation of permanently address the affordability issues facing the lower income households in our community.
This Request for Information is the culmination of months of research and laying down the path to work a community land trust in the City if it is the desire of the City Commission. The Affordable Housing Advisory Committee (AHAC) recommended at their regular meeting on March 12, 2024 that the City collaborate with the Florida Housing Coalition to explore the best way to implement a Community Land Trust (CLT) as a strategy to support affordable housing. The recommendation included developing both a legal and operational framework for the CLT prior to seeking approval from the City Commission.
