The Town of Amherst, as Awarding Authority, invites SEALED BIDS for providing commercial moving services for the Jones Library Renovation/Expansion project, 43 Amity Street, Amherst, MA 01002. These services are required to relocate the contents of the existing library to the temporary facility locations and to an additional storage location, which may be procured through this IFB.

Qualifications:
|
|
Bidders must have at least five (5) years of experience and a proven track record of high-quality work on similar projects. The Moving Company shall be licensed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. The moving company and its personnel shall maintain in good standing the certifications, licensing and registrations required by the various agencies noted and in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for the duration of the project. Copies of these licenses and certifications shall be provided.

Special Requirements:
|
|
The Moving Company must have experienced art handlers with demonstrated knowledge of recognized standards for the handling, wrapping, packing, and moving of antique furniture and fine arts (including bronzes and gilt-framed paintings). This includes the proper matching of packing materials with the specific type and medium of art, and the ability to construct custom-fitted boxes or crates when necessary.

An optional project walk-thru is planned for Tuesday May 13, 2025 at 1:00 pm at the Jones Library – 43 Amity Street, Amherst, MA. All bidders are strongly encouraged to attend.
