Title: Collection System Rehabilitation Project CIP CWW2501
Addenda: 0
Release Date: 5/20/2026
Due Date: 6/11/2026
The project includes rehabilitation of approximately 38,488 L.F. of existing 6”–15” sanitary sewer lines through pipe bursting and cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) lining, along with cleaning and televising of existing sewer lines. Work also includes bypass pumping, manhole installation and rehabilitation, service reconnections, traffic control, and coordination with the City, residents, businesses, pipeline companies, and inspectors.
Add Alternate No. 1 includes rehabilitation of approximately 1,255 L.F. of existing 8” sanitary sewer by pipe bursting.
Add Alternate No. 2 includes rehabilitation of approximately 1,235 L.F. of existing 8” sanitary sewer by pipe bursting.
Please review the attached Invitation to Bid project manual and construction drawings for more details.
The City of Sugar Land’s wastewater collection system includes approximately 2.6 million linear feet of sanitary sewer pipe, about 133 lift stations, approximately 16,450 sanitary sewer manholes, and four (4) wastewater treatment plants, North Wastewater Treatment Plant (North WWTP), South Wastewater Treatment Plant (South WWTP), West Wastewater Treatment Plant (West WWTP), and Greatwood Wastewater Treatment Plant (Greatwood WWTP). Gravity sewer mains, force mains, lift stations, and gravity interceptor mains convey the flows to the wastewater treatment plants.
In continuation of the City’s bi-annual wastewater collection system evaluation program, the areas included in the scope of work were identified as critical wastewater lines needing repair and rehabilitation. The critical wastewater lines were selected by a risk rating system that was developed based on the pipes’ size, material type, age, and depth.
