Code Enforcement Abatement Services

The City of Greer is seeking qualified contractors to provide on call code enforcement abatement services. This work includes mowing, trimming, debris removal, and the securing of structures at properties that are in violation of city ordinances. Contractors will be selected based on their experience, capabilities, and responsiveness. The selected vendors will be placed on a rotating list and contacted as needed to perform abatement tasks throughout the city.

The scope of work is predefined and pricing is set by the City. Contractors must agree to the standard pricing schedule and meet all equipment and response requirements outlined in the RFQ. This is a great opportunity for experienced abatement vendors to partner with the City in supporting public safety and neighborhood preservation.

The City of Greer Code Enforcement Division takes an education-first approach to property maintenance, working with residents to resolve violations before enforcement becomes necessary. In some cases, when voluntary compliance cannot be achieved, the City must move forward with abatement as a last resort. This may include entering onto properties that are still occupied, which requires contractors to approach each job with professionalism, sensitivity, and respect for the situation. While this work can present unique challenges, it is a vital part of protecting community safety and appearance, and ensuring properties are brought into compliance in a timely and consistent manner.
