Overview
Summary

Cleveland Metropolitan School District (CMSD) is requesting proposals to implement a Cloud-based Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) and associated Network Security features enabled by a Public Key Infrastructure on our devices and network.

In our drive to move our devices and management to cloud during the pandemic, we lost the ability to properly deploy a PKI setup as our devices became cloud managed.

We are looking for proposals for a cloud-based solution that will work with our MDM platforms to deploy certificates to our end-user devices for use in network and account security. We are looking to implement 802.1x authentication for our networks, Certificate Based Authentication MFA, Dynamic VLAN segmentation, and EAP-TLS.

We also are looking for the proposed solution to have a web-based management portal, a cloud-based RADIUS solution, and the ability to support portals for non-managed devices to register and connect in a Staff BYOD, Guest, or Vendor type situation.

The solution needs to be able to support adding non-managed corporate IoT devices through the management portal for network access

The primary goals of implementing a PKI service at CMSD is to enable enterprise-level security, and all of the accompanying features that rely on that level of security to improve our network security and feature availability for our users.
