CITYWIDE FIRE EXTINGUISHER & HOOD INSPECTION

The City of Charlottesville is soliciting sealed bids from qualified vendors to establish a fixed-price term contract to provide inspection, repair, and replacement of fire extinguishers and for the inspection of fire suppression systems (range hoods) in City buildings and Charlottesville City Schools.

The contractor shall furnish all labor, supervision, equipment, tools, parts and materials, as necessary, to annually inspect and maintain 661 fire extinguishers and semi-annually inspect and maintain 16 fire suppression (range hood) systems.

All testing shall be in accordance with National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Guidelines. Inspections intervals are as required by applicable laws to the time of issuance of this solicitation. Frequency of the requirements shall remain in accordance with all federal and state requirements throughout the term of this contract. Any changes to these requirements during the term of the contract must be met.

All inspections and testing must be performed by a NFPA Certified Inspector. All units shall be left with a current annual inspection tag, a monthly inspection tag and new seal, all installed by the Certified NFPA Inspector.
