Sealed bids will be received until 2:00 p.m. E.D.T. on Thursday, February 26, 2026, at the Purchasing Office, City Hall, 135 E. Maumee, Adrian, Michigan 49221, for the supplemental mowing of City Owned Properties. Specifications are attached.

Much of the properties will only be required to be mowed and trimmed one time weekly, however, irrigated areas may require a second mowing within the week. Areas could range, but not limited to, .5-40 acres. Areas can change from week to week based on Parks & Forestry Department availability.

Bidders are to provide pricing for 2026, and 2027; the Owner reserves the right to renew the contract for 2027 or if dissatisfied with performance may re-bid for the 2027 season.

It is the bidder’s responsibility to familiarize themselves with properties before bidding. A list of potential properties can be obtained by contacting Parks & Recreation Superintendent Jason Lawrence at JLawrence@adrianmi.gov

All bidders must supply a list of equipment used to perform mowing and other services.

The successful bidder will be expected to provide the following before work can begin:

Successful bidder will be required to enter into a Professional Services Contract with the City of Adrian. Copies of the Contract, and bond and insurance requirements can be found at http://adriancity.com/reference-desk/bids/

The City of Adrian reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids and to waive any irregularities.

All bids must be firm for not less than 60 days after official opening of bids.

SPECIAL PROVISIONS

CITY OF ADRIAN MOWING

1. This bid is being solicited to provide supplemental service to the city in the mowing of City of Adrian owned properties for the calendar year of 2026 and 2027. The city reserves the right to suspend or terminate contract in the event city personnel are available to perform mowing tasks, should budgeted funds be diminished.

2. In general, the mowable area is approximately .5-40 acres, comprised of common areas, baseball fields, vacant lots, municipal buildings, community parks, and Kiwanis Trail. All chain link fence lines will require trimming which shall be included in the per acre price.

3. The finished height of cut shall be 3.5-4 inches unless otherwise specified.

4. It is the bidder’s responsibility to familiarize themselves with properties before bidding. A list of potential properties can be obtained by contacting Park’s & Recreation Superintendent Jason Lawrence at JLawrence@adrianmi.gov.

5. Contractor shall have serviced all locations within five (5) days of being delivered the list.

Basis for Payment:

A. All labor, equipment, and materials necessary for areas that have been mowed and trimmed shall be paid for by the per acre price.

B. Contractor can submit invoices bi-weekly commencing from initial mowing.
