Description:

The work under this IFB consists of supplying specific chemicals to the City’s Water Treatment Plant. The types of chemicals and how they are measured are identified in the Price Schedule and Special Terms and Conditions.

A specification sheet and a copy of the current NSF certification under Standard 60 or 61 must accompany the proposal or be made available upon request.

The vendor shall deliver the chemical(s) specified in the contract documents by the agreed method of delivery and in the amount of time whenever the City contacts the Offeror.

The Annual Service Contract awarded as a result of the IFB shall not guarantee a specific number of purchases to any vendor.

The CITY reserves the right to make multiple awards from this solicitation and/or utilize other providers for specific services.

All material shall meet or exceed current AWWA specifications unless otherwise specified. Vendor shall provide documentation if the location of the manufacturer is outside of the United States.

Bulk chemical deliveries shall meet the following:

Vendor shall provide advance notification of the expected date and time of delivery and provide the name of the driver.

Driver shall not hook up any piping or unload any material unless told he/she can do so by the plant superintendent or an operator

Qualifications:

Any Offeror wishing to submit a proposal and be considered for this solicitation shall have had a minimum of five (5) years of successful experience in supplying a variety of chemicals and the ability to deliver them on time or as requested in the form indicated in this IFB.

Special Requirements:

Signed cover sheet, and all specified pages identified to be returned. shall be received in the Director of Public Works & Utilities Office, 401 Lafayette Street, 2nd floor, Williamsburg, Virginia on January 29, 2026, not later than 2:00 p.m., local prevailing time. It is the responsibility of each firm to deliver its Bid submittal to the CITY prior to the time set for receipt, regardless of what medium is used to deliver it, whether by mail or otherwise. PLEASE TAKE SPECIAL NOTE OF THE RECEIVING ADDRESS. No submittal shall be opened if it arrives after the time set for receipt.
