City of Williamsburg Police Department Window Shades

I.  PURPOSE

It is the intent of this solicitation to secure through competitive sealed bidding, for the procurement and installation of specified window shades for the new police station building located at 615 Lafayette Street, Williamsburg VA 231085.

II. SCOPE OF WORK

The City of Williamsburg Police Department, hereafter known as the City, is seeking bids from contractors for the procurement and installation of specified window shades.  The work shall include all labor, materials, equipment, transportation, survey, restoration, supervision or other facilities, duties, or incidentals necessary for execution and completion of the Project in compliance with the Contract Documents.

It should be noted that the window shades shall be installed into the 16-gauge metal framing under the drywall return surrounding the window and NOT into the aluminum storefront material. Bidders should note that there are locations where windows are split between two rooms and will require individual shades. Bidders are encouraged to field measure. This bid is only for the 1 ^st and 2 ^nd floors of the building.

Delivery and Install to take place Mid January 2026

A.        Contractor shall be responsible for performing all Work in accordance with local, state and federal laws and regulations.

B.        Contractor shall be responsible for keeping work area clear and free of debris, unused materials and chemicals.

C.        Contractor shall coordinate with City’s Point of Contact (POC).

D.        Contractor shall coordinate with City’s POC regarding material storage, laydown, and staging area at the site. Contractor may not block access without first consulting with City’s POC.

E.        Contractor shall reinstall any items that were removed in order to perform the work as described in this IFB.
