The City of Roswell is seeking GDOT Prequalified Contractors to construct corridor improvements along Riverside Road from Riviera Road to Old Alabama Road. The improvements include but are not limited to the following: a roundabout at River Lake Drive, intersection improvements at Riviera Road, Taimen Drive, Dogwood Road, and Old Alabama Road, addition of bike lanes, enhanced sidewalks and multi-use trail, closed system drainage, utility installation, paving, lighting, landscaping, and all other miscellaneous items necessary for completion of the Riverside Road Corridor Improvement project. Riverside Road Corridor Improvements

PURPOSE:

The City of Roswell is seeking to construct corridor improvements along Riverside Road from Riviera Road to Old Alabama Road. The improvements include but are not limited to the following: a roundabout at River Lake Drive, intersection improvements at Riviera Road, Taimen Drive, Dogwood Road, and Old Alabama Road, addition of bike lanes, enhanced sidewalks and multi-use trail, closed system drainage, utility installation, paving, lighting, landscaping, and all other miscellaneous items necessary for completion of the Riverside Road Corridor Improvement project.

SCOPE OF WORK:

The Contractor must be prequalified or registered with the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT). Contractors must submit GDOT certification documentation with bid.

A Notice of Intent (NOI) is required for this project. The contractor shall obtain the NOI prior to starting construction.

Contractor shall mobilize within 60 days of project award.

Contractor shall coordinate as required with adjacent City projects at Riverside Park and Don White Park as well as other projects in the area including but not limited to: SR 9 Historic Gateway (PI No. 721010-) and SR 400 Express Lanes Project (PI No. 0001757).

All materials and workmanship associated with this contract shall meet current GDOT Specifications and Standards, Applicable City of Roswell Specifications and Details, and Applicable Fulton County Waterline Standards for construction materials, methods, and procedures unless otherwise noted in the ITB or the construction plans. Please refer to the GDOT website for the most current versions of the Specifications and Special Provisions.

The quantities shown on the plans are approximate quantities. This project will be paid per the actual material quantities used in the field as dictated by the field conditions unless specific lump sum pricing is requested in the Price Bid form (and any attached Schedules to the Price Bid form). Monthly invoices to be submitted at end of the month for completed work during the previous month. It is the contractor's responsibility to include all necessary expenses for the complete construction of this project in the schedule, or to point out where it is impossible to do so in the question-and-answer period.

The unit price bid schedule will also apply for change orders, if necessary.

It is solely the contractor's responsibility to follow all safety code and regulations during all sections of construction.

It is the contractor's responsibility to determine and secure access to the job site including areas for materials and equipment storage. The site will be returned to its original condition (with the exception of the intended improvements) upon project completion.

It shall be the contractor's responsibility to notify any and all utility companies about marking and location of any facilities which might be in the way.

The City of Roswell will not be responsible for any delay caused by the failure of any utility companies to respond in a timely manner. No claims will be considered for extra compensation

The contractor shall inspect the site, discuss and resolve potential conflicts with the City of Roswell inspector prior to beginning construction.

On-site burial of debris is prohibited.

If the contractor damages any existing infrastructure during construction, contractor shall, at contractor's own expense, repair or replace the damaged features in kind or as directed by the City of Roswell inspector and/or the infrastructure owner.

Contractor shall remove any temporary silt fence upon final stabilization.

ALLOWABLE WORK HOURS:

PROSECUTION AND PROGRESS

The contractor will have Seven Hundred and Thirty (730) calendar days from issuance of Notice to Proceed to be substantially complete with the project. The Contractor will be considered substantially complete when all contract work except for punch list work has been completed and accepted.

The Contractor shall be assessed liquidated damages in the amount of $2,019 per calendar day for any work not completed by the deadline. Liquidated damages shall be deducted from the 10% retainage held by the City.
