The City of Orem is requesting proposals from responsible firms for Special Inspection services as required by code for the remodel of the City of Orem Recreation Center located at 580 West 165 South.
The existing facility will be demolished from the east wall of the pool areas including the underground track. There is approximately 9,000 cubic yards of backfill to bring the underground track to grade. The addition will be approximately 56,600 Square feet on the main level and 25,400 Square feet on the upper level. It will be approximately 30 to 35 feet in height. Inspections will include the following:
Soils (compaction, bearing, etc)
Concrete (samples, rebar, formwork, etc)
Masonry (samples, grouting, rebar, etc)
Steel (decking, welding, bolting, etc)
Nonstructural component seismic restraints
Anchorage of emergency or standby power systems
Firms and/or personnel must have certifications and licensing required by the International Code Council (ICC) and the State of Utah to perform inspections. Proposals for this project will be received on Sciquest or by the Office of Purchasing, 56 North State Street, Orem, Utah, 84057 during regular business hours until 3:00 pm, Tuesday, July 16 th , 2019. Proposals submitted after this deadline will be rejected. Those best meeting the needs of the City will be contacted for further action.
The City of Orem reserves the right to accept or reject any or all proposals or any part of any proposal if it be deemed to be in the best interests of the City to do so.
