Elements of this project will include adding clay and topsoil fill to replace eroded areas, riprap around storm inlets and the boat launch, rebuilding the boat launch to meet City of Lethbridge construction standards, replacing standard turf with dryland meadow mix and native flowers in a no-mow zone and planting native wetland vegetation at the edge and in the shallow edge of the pond to improve future bank stability of the pond. Utilizing native plant material in this project will provide the additional benefit of improving biodiversity in the park and contribute to ecosystem function.

This project will reconstruct nearly the entire pond edge on the east portion of the park to improve the function of the pond and park as per the design created in 2024. The scope of work to be completed under this contract include supplying all materials, products, labour and equipment for the pond edge erosion repair, including but not limited to:

•        “Prime Contractor” responsibilities
•        Project management and coordination
•        Mobilization and demobilization
•        Attendance and participation in construction and safety meetings
•        Schedule management and delay mitigation
•        Quality control
•        Safeguarding of work areas
•        Traffic, pedestrian and park user accommodation
•        Survey requirements
•        Environmental requirements
•        Tree Protection
•        Hydrovac utilities
•        Turf stripping and disposal offsite
•        Topsoil stripping and stockpiling on site
•        Irrigation removals, capping and adjustments
•        Common excavation and earthworks
•        Asphalt pathway removal
•        Subgrade preparation
•        Asphalt pathway construction
•        Boat launch construction
•        Supply and install clay cap pond liner
•        Supply and install native wetland plants
•        Topsoil placement and finish grading
•        Sod placement
•        Hydromulching and seeding
•        Landscape Rehabilitation
•        Warranty work completed as part of this contract (2-year)
