The City of Ennis is requesting submissions for Christmas Tree Lights & Decor . See solicitation 25-102-19 on the City's OpenGov portal, submissions are due before 1:00 pm on Wednesday, September 24, 2025 .

The City of Ennis hosts the annual Lights of Ennis celebration, a cornerstone of the community’s holiday season that attracts residents and visitors to the historic downtown district. The holiday program includes a parade, block party, children’s activities, and other festive attractions that bring thousands of people into downtown each year. The centerpiece of the celebration is the holiday décor and lighting that transform the City into a welcoming, family-friendly destination and enhances community pride.

In recent years, the City has owned and maintained much of its holiday décor inventory. While this approach has provided consistency, it has also required the City to bear the ongoing costs of storage, upkeep, and repair of decorations, in addition to contracting annually for installation and removal services as well as the rental of additional pieces to enhance the holiday decor. As part of its long-term event management and financial planning strategy, the City is evaluating alternative methods of managing its holiday displays.
