PURPOSE: The intent of thisprocurement solicitation, Child Nutrition Program – South Texas Cooperative LocalBeef Products is to contract with responsive and responsible Vendors, known asa company or firm whose purpose is to provide local beef items suitable for theChild Nutrition Program – South Texas Cooperative Members for the operation oftheir feeding programs, and preparation of nutritious student meals . Item descriptions, specifications and/or technicalrequirements and estimated quantities are provided for items and an opportunityfor Vendors to provide a product list for other items not specified in the BidTableand within the scope and intent of this bid solicitation. Region One ESC and its cooperative membersare required to conduct a cost or price analysis for the procurement of goodsand/or services not listed in the BidTable, and within the scope of servicesoffered with this bid solicitation. Cooperative members are responsible for the selection of goods and/orservices available to meet their individual district menu needs, nutritiongoals, storage capabilities, and student/staff/community preferences. Although Vendors may restrict service andsales to certain geographical areas or Member Districts within the scope ofthis Request for Proposal (RFP), sales without restriction to all participatingdistricts is preferred. Food and beverage items must meet the USDA schoolnutrition standards and requirements, as well as the Buy American Provision,and any additional requirements mandated by the United States Department ofAgriculture (USDA) and/or Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA) and/or otherapplicable state agencies for cooperative members. Vendor(s) must be approvedto do business in the state in which they are proposing service of goods in responseto this RFP.
