Chickee Hut Beach Rental Concessionaire at Tigertail Beach

As requested by the Parks and Recreation Division (hereinafter, the “Division”), the Collier County Board of County Commissioners Procurement Services Division (hereinafter, “County”) has issued this Request for Proposal (hereinafter, “RFP”) with the intent of obtaining proposals from interested and qualified vendors in accordance with the terms, conditions and specifications stated or attached. The vendor, at a minimum, must achieve the requirements of the Specifications or Scope of Work stated.

Collier County Parks and Recreation Division is soliciting proposals for the services of a concessionaire at Tigertail Beach. The concessionaire will be providing beach rentals at the chickee hut and is encouraged to also provide prepacked food and drinks.

The net sales reported to the County for the chickee hut from June of 2021 through June of 2022 averaged $7,500. However past sales may not be indicative of future buying patterns.

The contract term, if an award(s) is/are made is intended to be for one (1) year with four (4) one (1) year renewal options.

Tigertail Beach is located at 490 Hernando Drive on Marco Island. The beach facility includes 216 beach parking spaces, approximately 3,100 linear feet of beach, restrooms, boardwalk, and a children's playground. The park hours are 8:00 a.m. to sunset, three hundred and sixty-five (365) days per year. Based on historical data the annual attendance for Tigertail Beach exceeds 150,000 visitors per year.

The previous café and beach rental concessionaire’s combined average monthly payment to the County was approximately an average of $3,800 for June of 2021 through June of 2022. This did not include any taxes that were to be paid. The previous agreement was set at 20% of all revenues received, however for this agreement, the County will be requesting a flat monthly fee.

The successful applicant must be able to demonstrate they are able to fulfill the requirements listed in this scope of work for the duration of the agreement term. The Division desires to have these services available to the visitors of Tigertail Beach without having a negative impact on the biodiversity of the land, therefore, the concessionaire shall also be committed to ecologically sensitive operations.
