1232 Cherry Street Building Demolition Project

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that sealed proposals or bids for the 1232 CHERRY STREET BUILDING DEMOLITION PROJECT, CITY PROJECT NO. C2216 shall be received at the San Carlos City Clerk’s Office– 600 Elm Street, San Carlos, CA 94070 by Thursday,July 13, 2023, at the hour of 11:00 a.m. and will immediately then be publicly opened, examined and announced by the San Carlos City Clerk. Note – City Hall is closed to the public every Wednesday and Friday. No Pre-Bid Meeting has been scheduled for this project.

A Class A, B, C, C-21, C-22, or any combination of Contractor’s License is required for this work. Work will be done and payments will be made in accordance with provisions more particularly described in the plans and specifications.

The scope of work generally includes, but not limited to, mobilization, traffic control, water pollution prevention control, dust prevention and control, site cleanup, hazardous material abatement, temporary fencing, building demolition, trenching, disconnection and/or abandonment of existing utilities, protection of existing buildings and structures, disposal, grading, concrete removal and improvements, roadway resurfacing, installation of bollards and site restoration. The Engineer’s Estimate is between $200,000 and $250,000.

Bids must be accompanied by a Proposal guarantee amounting to ten (10%) percent of the bid as described in the specifications.  Said guarantee shall be forfeited to the City in case the bidder depositing the same does not, within fifteen days after written notice that the contract has been awarded to the Contractor (1) enter into a contract with the City and (2) furnish Performance and Payment Bonds as described in the specifications.

The City Council reserves the privilege of rejecting any and all proposals or to waive any irregularities or informalities in any proposals or in the bidding.  No bidder may withdraw their proposal for a period of ninety (90) calendar days after the date set for opening of proposals.

As a “Public Works” project and pursuant to Section 1773 of the Labor Code, the general prevailing wage rates for San Mateo County shall apply to this contract, as determined by the Director of the California Department of Industrial Relations.
